Happy Fall!

We are thrilled to offer these concerts for this upcoming weekend and we can’t wait to see you! In 2017, the Northern Third Piano Quartet commissioned Vermont composer Erik Nielsen to create a new work especially for us. Erik responded by composing a work in six movements for us that includes two solo movements and a duet, as well as three movements for all of us. His work has many of the trademarks of his trademark style, including lyricism, drama and humor, showing the influence of different types of music, such as jazz and classical music of different eras. Creation of the work was made possible in part by a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation's Arts Endowment Fund. www.eriknielsenmusic.com.

We are excited to play this wonderful piece this weekend in Montpelier and Richmond! We are also performing the Violin and Piano Sonata in A minor by Robert Schumann, “Spiegel im Spiegel” by Arvo Pärt for cello and piano, and the Piano Quartet in c minor by Gabriel Fauré.
